The Muppets are an ensemble of puppet characters who originated in the 1955 TV series Sam and Friends. The Muppets exist on multiple planes of metafictional continuity and canonicity even within their own body of work. They appear in narrative and non-narrative media across television and film. While they are most famous for The Muppet Show, his page is primarily concerned with their appearances that connect to narrative live-action television outside of their own projects.
