• Type A crossovers have characters presented as reasonably “canonical” versions of themselves in something besides their own shows.

• Type B crossovers have characters presented as “fictional characters” in dreams, fantasies, or other metafictional story constructs.

• Type C crossovers have characters who originate in sketch comedy, variety shows or other media and whose individual appearances are not necessarily canon to each other. These are the kind of characters who would appear on a talk show “in character” such as Pee-wee Herman or The Muppets.
