(Note: In the Community episode “Critical Film Studies”, Abed tells a story about being an extra on the set of Cougar Town that may or may not have been true. In the Cougar Town episode “Something Good Coming”, Danny Pudi appears as a background extra who behaves very much as Abed would, seemingly confirming Abed’s story.

Interestingly, actors Busy Phillips and Dan Byrd, who were in the Cougar Town scene with Abed, appear as background extras in the Community episode “For a Few Paintballs More”. And just to complicate things even further, Community is mentioned on Cougar Town as a TV show that the characters have watched.)
