Sabrina the Teenage Witch is a TV series that aired on ABC from September 27, 1996 to May 5, 2000 and The WB from September 22, 2000 to April 24, 2003 for a total of seven seasons. It is based on the Archie Comics comic series of the same name.
Cast & Character Origins
Character | Adapted From | Date | Format |
---|---|---|---|
Sabrina Spellman, Hilda Spellman, Zelda Spellman, Salem Saberhagen, Harvey Kinkle, Jenny Kelley | “Sabrina the Teenage Witch” | April 7, 1996 | TV movie |
(Note: The TV movie, which aired on Showtime, is mostly unrelated to the final TV show outside of the basic premise and Melissa Joan Hart being cast as Sabrina. Sabrina’s surname is Sawyer. Hilda, Zelda, Salem, and Harvey are not specifically surnamed and have different actors. The character who would become Jenny (played by the same actress) is named Marnie Littlefield in this movie.)
Guest Characters
Characters | From | Date | Episode | Crossover Type |
---|---|---|---|---|
Kenan Rockmore, Kel Kimble | May 1, 1998 | S02E24: “Sabrina’s Choice” | B* | |
Warren "Potsie" Weber | January 31, 2003 | S07E13: "Sabrina in Wonderland” | B |
(Note: Kenan and Kel appear on Sabrina when she wishes to see what would happen if they won the lottery. I assume from context she is talking about them as fictional television characters, but in either case they are being seen in a theoretical vision.)

(Note: TGIF had a “Time Bomb” crossover event on November 7, 1997 where various characters were sent through time as a result of a spell gone wrong on Sabrina.
The Boy Meets World crossover in the episode “No Guts, No Cory” seems to indicate that it happened within the universe of the show, but also ends with Salem walking outside the Boy Meets World set on the Disney studio lot. so it’s hard to say what level of fiction it takes place in.
Netflix delineates Chilling Adventures of Sabrina into two seasons that each have two “parts” (likely to avoid paying higher salaries/residuals). I will be using the common parlance used on IMDb, fan wikis, and reviews which calls each part a “season”.)
