(Notes: The Golden Girls episode “Empty Nests” was a backdoor pilot for the premise of Empty Nest. However, the actors from that backdoor pilot were not used in the final show. Empty Nest had characters with similar relationships to George and Jenny Corliss, but otherwise it was fully retooled. Actor David Leisure did end up in the cast of Empty Nest after being in “Empty Nests” as a fully unrelated character. Empty Nest later got it’s own spinoff with Nurses.)
