Artisan {{ currentPage ? currentPage.title : "" }}

Artisans are skilled at a trade, and in an adventuring context this often compliments their other abilities. An expert smith is invaluable to a company of warriors, and a stonemason to those traveling through ancient ruins. But legendary painters and chocolatiers are not unheard of either.

Example Backgrounds: Apprentice of Glindon Godhammer, 5-Star Waterdavian Chocolatier, Royal Portrait Painter, Silver Swordsmith, Food-Cart Chef.

Class prerequisite: When you create a character, in order to choose artisan as a class you must have a background related to an artisan craft.

Level 1 Talent

Artisanal Expertise: When you gain this talent choose one of your backgrounds related to some kind of artisan craft. This is your artisan’s background. When you make a skill check using your artisan’s background and fail, you may re-roll one of the dice, possibly turning a failure into a success. Additionally, you may perform great deeds of artisan crafting, such as producing a large amount of crafted objects or a very large or detailed creation over a very short period of time.

Level 2 Talents

Artisan Apprentices: Your excellent craftsmanship have attracted to your service a number of artisans seeking to be your apprentice. Your party’s club may hire Artisan Apprentice hirelings for 1 pull. Artisan Apprentices have 1 admin and 2 labor. When working on jobs related to your artisan’s background, they instead have 2 admin and 3 labor.

Level 6 Talent

Masterpiece: After you craft something, you may spend 1 adventure point to designate it your masterpiece. You may only maintain one such masterpiece at a time. When you or another player character uses your masterpiece in a way that helps them on a skill check, they have advantage on that skill check.

Level 10 Talent

Ultimate Creation: Choose any magic artifact found in the luxury artifacts or story artifacts section of this wiki (excluding key items and mcguffins). In a flash of inspiration and a flurry of work, you create this item. While its effects are the same you decide what form the item takes (ideally, a form related to your artisan expertise). If you like, when you die your spirit can come to inhabit this magic artifact. You decide what this means for your experience after death - perhaps you experience living in a comfortable interior space of your design that provides for your needs and leisure. In any event, with your soul in the item you may speak to and impart advice to those attuned to the item.
