In The Painter Afdah we follow the journey of a CIA operative who possesses extraordinary hearing abilities, developed after being involved in a terrorist bombing that tragically claimed the lives of his parents when he was just a child. Interestingly, he also happens to be a talented painter, which is how he acquired his codename. While there may have been several more suitable nicknames for him, it is safe to assume that they were either already used by similar characters in other movies or lacked the unique marketing potential of his current moniker. If you are a fan of action movies or thrillers from the past decade, you will likely find that director Kimani Ray Smith brings nothing particularly groundbreaking or fresh to the table with this run-of-the-mill action thriller.
