This tip or info applies to almost all melee units. You usually have a slash/stab attack on the standard "R" key, which you can/should activate for about 10 seconds. Your units hit the enemies in front of you with increased damage potential. Depending on the skill / unit, you usually get a phase 1, where you also get melee defense/attack damage and a phase 2, in which you get a deduction on your speed.
