Just like in the main menu, you can also view your unit statistics in-game. You can also expand the individual 4 tabs (attack, defense, life, movement). And not only for you, but also for an enemy or friendly unit if you click on it (then top left). For cavalry, in addition to speed, it is primarily the charge impact that determines who will deal out the damage in a direct 1vs1 confrontation. However, this charge impact can be improved through gear and consumables, so you can't necessarily always know who will win. Looking at the stats (if you have the time) will make or break a fight.
In addition, you should generally learn quickly which unit type is good, medium or inferior to which unit type.

Low Threat (green) = You are stronger
Medium Threat (yellow) = Can't say for sure
High Threat (orange) = You are outclassed
Very High Threat (dark red) = You will die!
