The Number 1 Draft Pick in the NBA Draft {{ currentPage ? currentPage.title : "" }}

In a season that was marked by the Warriors and Cavaliers capturing the NBA Finals, the league's scouts, analytics experts and front offices spent long hours in war rooms watching film, interviewing players and holding workouts in anticipation of the 2018 draft. They hoped to select a player that would transform their franchise and set the tone for the next generation of players.

In this year's draft, there were a lot of good young players who had the potential to be stars in the league. Some of these prospects are now starting in the league, others haven't made the leap and some of them are still developing their skillsets.

The scouts who have done a great job of selecting these players are getting paid well, too. According to RealGM, the players drafted first overall will earn about $6 million in their first year. They'll also get a bonus in their second and third years that adds up to $5.4 million, depending on their performance.

There's a lot of talent in this draft and many teams will find a way to use it. Here are some of the biggest names from the class and where they might fit in their rosters.

1. Phoenix Suns: Deandre Ayton, 7'0" center (Arizona). He’s got great length and moves well on both ends of the court, he can hit threes and has a very high ceiling as a NBA player. He’s also got a big heart and has shown great work ethic off the ball.

2. Sacramento Kings: Marvin Bagley III, 6'11" forward/center (Duke). He’s a natural scorer and has a great bounce, can attack the glass and has a very good finish at the rim. He needs to work on defense, but has the tools to become an elite scorer at the next level.

3. Atlanta Hawks: Luka Doncic, 6'8" shooting guard/center (Slovenia). He’s an incredible shooter and a natural point guard who can make the quick, heady decisions you need from the point guard spot. He’s a perfect fit with Trae Young in the league and could be a force to be reckoned with for years to come.

4. Denver Nuggets: Michael Porter Jr., 6'10" shooting guard/forward (Missouri). He’s a very strong and athletic player with a long wingspan who has a lot of upside and the ability to make big contributions in the future. He’s got a lot of injury concerns, but his re-emergence last season after back surgery was impressive and he should be ready to step into the starting lineup by Week 2 of this season.

5. Miami Heat: Marreese Spellman, 6'8" shooting guard/forward (Georgia Tech). He’s an underrated prospect in this class who is a great passer and can hit threes when the time is right. He's not the greatest athlete and he hasn't developed his offensive game at the college level, but he has the talent to be an excellent player in the NBA.

6. Orlando Magic: Mohamed Bamba, 7'0" center (Texas). He has a very high ceiling but he hasn't really put it all together and he still has some growing to do. He has the size and strength to be a great defensive center with a crazy wingspan, but he’s not quite there yet. He needs to develop more speed and quickness in the weight room so he can stay strong and fast while improving his shot from the outside.

It’s always a win to choose the best NBA betting sites Singapore for all of their features, excellent odds, and high payouts.
