Despite not hitting his first four attempts from the top of the key, Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade took home the gold at Saturday night's Skills Challenge. He used a "leave it up" mentality to post the best time in the first round, which helped him edge out defending champion Bron James and former NBA All-Star Steve Nash for the win.
Skills Challenge: The Definitive Test of Physical Fitness
In the skills challenge, the contestants were required to perform a series of moves in a time limit. While this is an impressive feat, the real test was how well they could execute the moves.
The wacky contestants figured out how to do the moves, but it was only by trial and error.
The most impressive move was a leg-swiping, back-flipping, balancing act by Air Force hockey player Eric Ehn. He was able to kneel, reach down and slide a puck back between his legs, then spin around to knock it in the net. He also had the best score in the competition, with a score of 13-6. It was the largest score by a player to date, beating out runner-ups Christina Crawford and Ariane Andrew who both received developmental contracts after the show ended.
