What Is The Process Of Tyre Manufacturing? {{ currentPage ? currentPage.title : "" }}

If you pay attention to your tyres, you would realize how complex they can be. To be precise, your tyres are a combination of components from various elements. All the compounds combine in a way to function simultaneously. Also, have you ever thought about how do manufacturers get the rubber from trees to the road? It is something that most people miss out on.

To your knowledge, this blog has made this easy for you. Tyre production is a multi-step process. The composition of your Tyres Ashford is not an easy task because they are made with complete accuracy and precision to enhance the safety and performance of the vehicle. Follow SBL Mobile tyres to get through the whole process.

There is a pool of manufacturers in the market today and each manufacture uses a different material and composition for producing tyres. When it comes to tyres, the production of different types of tyres includes different materials and formations. The complete process is a 5 to 6 step procedure-

Stage 1-  To start the manufacturing of tyres, stage 1 comprises collecting all the raw material.

  • Steel- High-strength steel is produced by the steel industry. Steel belts (steel rope) and bead cores are made from this material as a beginning material (steel wire).

  • Rubber-The rubber is an extraction from a large rubber plantation. When acid is added to the milky fluid (latex) that comes out, it coagulates. It's then washed and compressed into solid bales for easier transportation and storage.

  • Chemicals- All the necessary chemicals are taken from the different chemical industries. Synthetic rubber and materials, in particular, are utilized to reduce tyre wear, increase grip, and extend tyre life.

  • Textiles- base materials like rayon, nylon, polyester, etc are supplies by the textile industries for making cords that function as the reinforcement in tyers.

Stage 2 –  After the collection of all the raw material, the next step includes manufacturing all the elements. Now the composition of various elements is turned into their proper shape. Like-

  • The steel is used to make the steer cord

  • The rubber is mixed with different chemicals to form the surface of the tyre.

  • The sidewall is manufactured, the extruder produces sidewall portions that are trimmed to fit the specific tyre size.

  • Inner liner- The airtight inner lining is formed into a wide, thin layer using a calendar.

  • Steel bead- The bead's core is made up of many ring-shaped steel wires. They each have their unique rubber coating. After that, a rubber apex is added to the loop.

Stage 3- Now that all the elements are manufactures, the next step involves building the tyre. On the tyre building machine, the various semi-finished products are combined and assembled into a “green tyre.” The casing and the tread/belt assembly are completed in two stages. After that, a special fluid is sprayed on the "green tyre" to prepare it for vulcanization.

Stage 4 – By this stage, the tyre completes three stages and we have a green tyre, now in stage 4, it's time for the tyre to get its finishing done. Raw rubber is transformed into flexible, elastic rubber throughout this procedure. The tread pattern and sidewall markings are engraved on the curing press moulds.

Stage 5 – After vulcanization, now the quality of the tyre is checked. A multi-step procedure ensures your CHURCHILL Tyres Ashford is safe. A series of tests are done to check the overall tyre.

The tyre goes through three tests -

  • Visual inspection

  • X-ray

  • uniform checks

Once the tyre passes all the tests, it gets a green signal for distribution warehouses to form where they are shipped all over the world. And the last step involves you buying that particular tyre and getting it fitted in your vehicle.
