A power of attorney is a legal document that gives someone else the authority to act on your behalf. Durable and Springing Power of Attorneys - What are These Documents?

There are two types of power of attorney: Durable and Springing. You can get power of attorney forms in NY of both types from the internet, and use them for your own requirements after some amount of customization.

a) Durable Power of Attorney - A Durable Power of Attorney is a legal document that gives someone else the authority to make decisions on your behalf. This type of power of attorney is one that remains in effect even if the person who grants it becomes incapacitated.
